Hope

Take a breath,

as the walls fall around you,

everything crashing down.

Close your eyes,

as your worst nightmares,

become reality.

Imagine peace,

as the war drums,

begin to pound.

Rain crashes,

as the small tears,

fall from your eyes.

Silence falls,

as you build a barrier,

blocking everything out.

Fires burn,

as your hardened heart,

begins to melt.

You tried so hard,

to not let anything break you,

You tried so hard,

but there was nothing you could do.

Life fell in it's place,

leaving you amongst the rubble,

It fell right down,

shattering your bubble.

You tried to fix it,

tried to not let it fall,

But the hole was too big,

and you were too small.

The battle was long,

and the battle was hard,

The city has fallen,

the remnants all scarred.

You barely escaped,

pulled out by a rope,

Held by the one and only,

hope.

This war is over,

the battles are done,

But the clouds will clear,

and shine will the sun.

I cannot tell you,

how many battles there will be,

But stuck as a prisoner of war,

just remember, hope can always set you free.
